A nationally renowned player, Stacey DeCastro, is the current national record holder for the most goals scored in a game, season, and career while playing in college. He attended Husson College where he holds the record for most assists in a season and career in college, he was the captain for 3 years. In addition he was college All-American.

At the age of 16, Stacey started playing semi-professional in LASA(Adult Soccer League, recognized for being one of strongest leagues in New England). His team won many league championships and LASA Cups. While in LASA, Stacey was the top scorer several times.

Stacey is an experienced coach, having coached youth, high school, and college squads. Stacey formerly coached at Husson College and Bowdoin College in Maine. He coached St. Andrews high school in Barrington, RI and at Joseph Case high school in Swansea, MA. Under his coaching at Joseph Case, the team won the South Coast League and attended state semi-finals.
For many years he was actively involved in the State Olympic Development Program for the boys in Rhode Island, where he coached and held the position of Director of Coaches. He was a member of Region 1 coaching staff.
For fourteen years, Stacey was the head soccer coach at Providence Country Day in East Providence, RI. The PCD Knights under Coach Stacey’s coaching won the New England Championship title in 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2006, and 2007 and were New England finalists in 2001, 2005(quarter finals), 2008, 2009.  Coach Stacey in 2014 took the Knights to become Rhode Island State Champs.  During his coaching career he has coached many players who moved on to playing in college, pre-professional and professional levels.  His players play in Europe, MLS, and in World Cup, including Michael Parkhurst who is the captain of Atlanta FC and Geoff Cameron who plays for Stoke City in England, Nico Colaluca, Colorado Rapids 2007 MLS draft, Christine McCann, Boston Breakers among many others.

He is currently the president of East Bay United Futbol Club (formerly Bayside United Premier Soccer Club). Stacey has taken teams to winning leagues as well as many tournaments.  While coaching Bayside United he coached Bayside Stompers and Strikers taking the teams to many indoor and outdoor championships, the Stompers are known to have been the BEST TEAM IN RHODE ISLAND.  While at Bayside United he  coached teams to 14 state Championships and several national rankings.

As president of East Bay United FC he guides and trains all East Bay United FC coaches to follow his philosophy.  Stacey stresses the importance of maturity, dedication, discipline, and desire in a positive atmosphere.  He focuses on developing and refining each player’s skill and knowledge of both defensive and offensive techniques and tactics of the game.  In an effort to continue to expand and give EBU players more opportunities, Stacey has partnered with Stoke City England to give our players a pathway to playing soccer in Europe,  he hosted a Stoke City ID Camp that resulted in the invitation of three of our players to a National ID Camp given them an opportunity to train and play in Europe.

Stacey is a USSF “A” licensed coach and has received his international coaching diploma. He continues to be extremely active in enhancing his coaching by attending conferences as well as getting involved in many new coaching techniques by participating in seminars. His successes are both on as well as off the field.  He is known to have influenced many players in making positive choices in their lives.  He coaches soccer the same way in played it “With Heart”, all for the Love Of The Game!
